Wokamama, Gurgaon

[Rated: 4/5]

Surprisingly, even though Wokamama has been around for over a year now, it missed our attention. This beautifully done pan-Asian restaurant has both covered and open seating with our vote going to the dimly lit open seating for quiet romantic dinner.

Tom Yam Martini is not to be missed; aromatic, innovative and flavorful while Wasabi Bloody Mary (375 each) was a passé; completely missing the hard hitting wasabi flavors. Freshly made Tuna and Salmon Nigiri Sushi and Prawn Tempura (525 each) immediately draws attention and warrants a re-order. Indonesian style Grilled Spicy Basa Fish Fillet in Banana Leaf (395) is another not to be missed signature dish which smelled and tasted heavenly. Veg Thai Green Curry (345) was just as good as every second restaurant. Fried ice cream topped with litchi syrup or Coconut Roll with Pickled Raisin and Cinnamon (245 each) are the perfect way to end the meal.

The service was efficient and quick. Wish they change the used plates often. The lobster seemed a little stale compared to the fresh feel we otherwise experienced in the entire meal. And lastly, to complete the Pan Asian experience few may miss the beef preparation.

Overall, Wokamama is a hidden treasure waiting to be explored.
