Ingredients:

Bread Flour,4 cups

Salt,1 tsp

Butter,80 gms

Dry Active Yeast,1 packet ( 2 1/4 tsp )

Sugar, 1 tsp

Lukewarm water, ¼ cup

Eggs, 2 beaten lightly

Lukewarm milk, 1 ¼ cup

Cheddar cheese grated, 150 to 170 gms

Fresh dill and parsley chopped

Grilled and chopped garlic, 6 (as required)

Method:PhotoGrid_1378451366849

In a large bowl, mix yeast and lukewarm water with a teaspoon sugar, and keep aside to rise.

When risen add ¾ of the egg mix, butter, salt and flour. Add in lukewarm milk and knead into a soft dough – knead for about 10 minutes. Keep the dough covered by a wet cloth or plastic cling film for few hours to rise.

Chop dill and parsley leaves; mix with chopped garlic, and grated cheddar cheese.

When the dough has risen to double its size, make 12 equal sized balls. Roll them out into flat. Place 1 tablespoon cheese mix on one half, fold over and seal the pocket with your fingers. Repeat for all 12.

Arrange the sealed pockets in a greased loaf pan, as in the picture. Leave them to rise again for 30 minutes. When risen brush with the egg wash and bake in preheated oven at 190 C for 35 to 40 minutes. Enjoy ….

Each of the 12 loaves can be separated with your hands after baking… no knife required to slice….
