Gurgaon, 26 April, 2014 -The winners of the first Gurgaon centric food awards, Food Freak Awards Gurgaon, 2014 were announced at a show-stopping ceremony held at The Westin Gurgaon today evening. The awards were given in two categories Popular Choice and Jury Choice. Hosted by Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, the event was attended by the who’s who of the Gurgaon.
The winners of Jury Choice were selected by some of India’s finest food connoisseurs chefs like celebrated Chef Kunal Kapur, Chef Sabyasachi Gorai, Pawan Soni, Aalok Wadhwa, Anoothi Vishal, Osama Jalali and among others who not only excel in identifying the very best recipes and culinary techniques but also understand the importance of food in relation to the culture of a region. Giving away the awards were luminaries from the industry like Rocky and Mayur of Highway on my Plate and Masterchef Manjeet Gill among others.
Made In Punjab, a fine dining restaurant serving lip smacking North Indian cuisine was voted as the Best Debut Restaurant in the Popular Choice, whereas the much loved Parsi and Iranian Cafe Soda Bottle Openerwala was conferred with Jury Choice in the same category. The awards also accoladed the Home Bakers of Gurgaon where in Sonic Singh of Healthy Bakers and Pooja Nabh of Cococraft Chocolates and Desserts were awarded in Jury Choice and Popular Choice respectively (Full Winners list below)
Initiative of Indian Food Freak.com, India’s leading food blog and restaurant review website, and SPAG Asia, Gurgaon based marketing communications firm Food Freak Awards recognised and honoured the best eateries of Gurgaon who have been instrumental in making the city a foodie hangout in Delhi NCR.
For People’s Choice an incredible 161,000 plus votes were cast, during the month-long voting period. Voters were tasked with choosing the best restaurants in 22 separate categories, ranging from Best Regional Indian Restaurant to Best European Restaurant and Best Biryani among Others.
Food Freak Awards Gurgaon, 2014 celebrates the kind of food we all want to eat: tasty, authentic, and responsible. In its inaugural year, awards were given to winners in twenty two categories. The Food Freak Awards Seal, found on winning restaurants, assures foodies they have found something exceptionally delicious that makes them wanting to come back again and again.
