Nothing like freshly baked homemade bread, butter and coffee for breakfast….
Recipe:
Ingredients:
2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
1/2 cup Warm water
3/4 cup Warm milk
1 tbsp Sugar
2 cups Whole Wheat flour
1 cup Oats
1 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Olive oil
1/2 tsp Sesame seeds
Method:
In a large bowl, combine yeast, water, milk and sugar. Let stand for 10 minutes, until foamy.
Add in flour and salt and mix well. Add olive oil and knead well.
Cover the bowl (with dough) in cling film and let rise for 45 minutes to 1 hr in a warm place( I keep mine inside the microwave oven with the door closed), till it doubles in size.
Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C.
Turn risen dough out onto a lightly floured surface and press into a rectangle. With a long side of the dough facing you, roll the dough firmly into a cylinder, pressing down to make sure that the dough sticks to itself. Turn the dough seam-side up and pinch it closed. Place the cylinder of dough in a greased loaf pan, seam-side down and pressing the dough gently so it touches all four sides of the pan.
Cover the shaped dough; let rise for another 20 to 30 minutes.
Brush top of the loaf with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool on a wire rack for minimum 10 minutes before serving
Notes: In case u need to add more liquid, add lukewarm water while kneading the dough.
