New Delhi, November 17, 2014: This November R.E.D celebrates Thailand’s world renowned traditional festival Loi Krathong from 21st Nov – 30th Nov. 2014. R.E.D (stands for Rare Eastern Dining) is the oriental cuisine restaurant at Radisson Blu MBD, Noida. Loi Krathong is one of the most popular events on the Thai calendar and is auspiciously coordinated to fall on a full moon. The festival will feature the Chef’s special selection of unique Thai food including appetizers and main courses, which promise to delight with the fresh and flavourful Thai cuisine.
The Loi Krathong festival historically originated when the Thai people offered thanks to the Goddess of Water by floating their “krathongs” delicately crafted rafts, made of banana leaves, on a river to wash away their bad luck and misfortune. They also lit candles and incense sticks on the raft to make wishes for good luck and prosperity in the future. The obeisance paid to the gods reflects in the rich and varied menu for the festival, specially created by Chef Sim. Starters vary from Zea Mea Boong Rakbua, Por Pai Chea, Yum Prick Goong, Prick Kratiam pla, Theydon Thord Kai, Por Pai Ped.
The specially created festival menu offers Hed phad Mamuang Himmapan, Thai Boong Phak, Phad Phak Raum Mitra, Theydon krapow Goong, Pla nirang Khing, Kai Himmapan, Boong Kea Curry.
The rice and the noodle sections offers Ban Thai Kuai Tiaw and Krapow Khao. Finish the elaborate and delicious meal with specially created desserts like warm Mango and coconut cake with mascarpone cream, chestnuts pearls with Kafir lime coconut cream, Lychee Ice cream.
