Welcome to Villa Vandre, the first Café opened by Ice Apple Food Services Pvt. Ltd., a company founded in 2011 by Chef Aloysius Dsilva, Sonia Mistry and Firuza Mistry Dsilva.
Although this charming Café nestled in a quaint bylane of Bandra is not the size of an actual villa, you’ll find that it definitely has the heart of the quintessential old homes that once dotted Bandra. A large French door beckons you into the homely confines of this sixteen seater café. Pristine wooden tables, white bentwood chairs, shelves dotted with bric-a-brac from days gone by bring back memories of the old world charm of Bandar’s villas and offer a sense of timelessness for you to sit back and enjoy your meal.
Villa Vandre is a celebration of Chef Aloysius’ (fondly called Chef Aloo) culinary journey that began from his humble villa in Shirley village where he grew up, his culinary career that took him all over the world and brought him back home for you to sample his gourmet cuisine.
Villa Vandres’ menu boasts of a wide choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes from all parts of the world, and the dishes we serve at Villa Vandre are wholesome and unpretentious.
Each dish on the menu is a personal milestone in Chef Aloysius’ culinary journey, so, you’ll find that the Coastal Prawn Curry he learned from the Kolis in Bandra is as authentic as the guarded Dhansak recipe handed down over generations from his wife’s Parsi family.
It’s no wonder then that Villa Vandre dishes out Chef Aloysius’ East Indian Sausages learnt from his grandmother with as much panache as the ‘Miss Browns Jerk Chicken’ that he picked up from Miss Brown in Jamaica.
Whether you choose to begin your day with a hearty breakfast, tuck into a healthy salad, binge on a burger or slurp on spaghetti, you’ll find Chef Aloysius’ signature touch reflect in each dish that reaches your table.
The café blackboard tempts you to end your meal on a sweet note with its delectable menu. You can choose from the velvety smooth and rich Baked Cheesecake with seasonal fruit compote, the deliciously light and creamy Panna Cotta and sinful Chocolate Concoctions.
So get geared to explore our menu and be a part of this culinary journey that stretches from a Villa in Vandre to enthralling Europe and magnificent Mexico; from the enchanting Far East to serene Sri Lanka and adventurous America.
