Mamagoto the much loved Pan Asian restaurant chain known for its quirky Asian cuisine presents yet another offering, takes that takes forward their philosophy of Food, Fun, Taste and Innovation. Titled “Asian Experiment’s” the idea behind this latest menu is to showcase two cuisines which are polar opposites.
There are some dishes which challenge the traditional pre conceptions of Oriental /Pan Asian food and thus are considered to be “Modern Asian” i.e. dishes which take ingredients often found in Asia but use recipes and techniques to cook with those ingredients that are not necessarily Asian.
This menu is to focus on new palettes, newly engineered tastes and take patrons on a culinary adventure with a blend of flavor’s never thought possible!!The other part of the “Asian Experiments” menu takes us back to the Asian food archives, continuing to discover from the rich vault of Asian kitchen traditions an array of superbly flavored curries and light salads from various city streets of Southeast Asian regions.
Mamagoto invites you to savour the pleasantly piquant Wasabi hummus & pita : Wasabi spiked hummus with miso flavoured minced chicken or miso minced veg. Served with pita bread and Japanese rice crackers.The Asian Raviolis is a surprise of tastes with Camembert and goat cheese ravioli with a Southeast Asian tangy mango and tamarind sauce. The Healthy Raw Salad with Rice vermicelli, peeled cucumber, carrots, cashews and crispy wonton skins made with chilli peanut dressing takes a classic offering like Wantons and creates a crunchy summer salad. The Slim Sumo Salad is a Quinoa salad with Thai flavoured dressing, cherry tomatoes and mangoes while the Saigon Bowl is a hearty coming together of Vietnamese chicken marinated in black peppers or Vietnamese oyster mushroom, button mushroom, shitake in black peppers garlic with rice vermicelli noodles tossed in scallion oil and served with a fish sauce chilly dip…….Perfect for a rainy day in Mumbai.
Other dishes are the Singapore Race club curry which is Mamagoto’s take on the famous Singapore chilli crab sauce – Prawn and egg or Tofu wok tossed in a chilli sauce “curry” served with fried mantau buns (chinese bread) And the Thai GO-GO curry which could well be Mama’s hottest curry yet! Veg, Chicken or Prawn Yellow Curry made with red chillies and turmeric……defying all chilli lovers to go down this spice route.
