The new Social will make you Hop, Sip and Jump:
The master restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani, once again, comes back with a Bang with the opening of his latest branch of Social at the Palladium Mall in Mumbai.
Located on the 3rd floor of the mall, this is perhaps the smallest of all the Social outlets, but what makes it stand out is the massive one of its kind beer dispenser which probably is the biggest one in the country. Patrons can go and try different beers and even pour their own from a selection of several artisanal and branded beers.
During the launch we were also given a master class of few of the iconic burgers from the Social stables ranging from beetroot to Lamb ones along with the tasting of few of the Tall LIITs and iconic cocktails.
The following is the media release of the launch. Go do try it out for some awesome food, fun and booze while your better half gets her shopping fix. Cheers!

Social, the café-slash-co-working space is dropping anchor at the iconic fashion hub Palladium, to mark its 3rd outlet in the city, relieving thousands of cubicle dwellers this side of the flyover from chronic cabin-fever with a state of the art Craft Beer Tasting Room! The first of its kind in India, this room will feature 12 craft brews on tap (apart from grown, suited men on their knees, sobbing tears of joy) to start with and eventually serve 15 beers, sourced from India and Europe’s finest breweries, making it one helluva ‘hoppy’ place to spend the day working.
‘Today’s entrepreneur doesn’t work out of an office, or home’, says Riyaaz Amlani, CEO and MD, Impresario Hospitality, parent company for Social. ‘They’re looking for spaces that inspire them and unshackle the thinking process. While we’re excited to be moving in to Palladium, we’re thrilled about the launch of the Craft Beer Tasting Room. For a fact, there’s absolutely nothing like it in the country – I definitely foresee a many an inspired idea taking wing in the confines of The Craft Beer Room.’
The Room itself will play host to interesting sessions, such as the hourly interactive tasting sprees, sampling beers alongside burgers and other food from the menu that pair perfectly together. The resident Brew Expert (a.k.a the root cause of all cross eyed-ness) will talk patrons through the finer aspects of craft beer, be it colour, body, taste, hoppiness, country of origin, drinking culture, brewing style, recipes, food that goes with it and anything else you could possibly imagine.
Designed by Faizan and Samir of studio eight twentythree, this 2500 sq ft. space opens on a huge charcoal black stained wood doorway to sweep guests into another time zone, literally! As one crosses over the fluted glass paneled facade, the solid rough-cut wood log tables greet guests with a sheen. The customised low slung light fixture rows are as quirky as Social could get, surrounded by the raw concrete walls. Just as one starts wondering if there’s more to this new Social than meets the eye, the chunky bar surprises you with a whammy of those forgotten ceramic glazed tiles (much like the old hamams). The leather sofas and seats add the warmth to complete the decor of the place. The beer tasting room situated at the rear end of the restaurant reflects the glazed tiled look of the bar, along with large vintage mirror frames reflecting the buzz. The idea is to support and promote local craft breweries with international beers on tap to compliment it.
Speaking of the bar, the first locally brewed beers to flow out of the brand new taps will include a German Style Wheat Beer, an IPA and a Dunkel from Gateway Brewing Co., an Irish Red Ale, a German Hefeweizen and an English Porter by The White Owl, and a Wheat Beer and a Blonde Beer by BIRA. Over time, this beer tasting room will also feature rotating brews from local breweries that are brewed exclusively for Social, in limited quantities. International favourites like Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Erdinger Dunkel and Erdinger Weissbier find home between the taps.
Social knows that an army of creative entrepreneurs can’t march on an empty stomach (#FoodforThought, FTW) – with no dearth of creative juices on tap; the restaurant has conceived a specially curated, exclusive burger menu to pair with your craft brews, to satiate every hue of hunger you may have. From The Faker Burger (Mock Meat marinated in Soy in a Brioche Bun) to the Tongue You Very Much Burger (Tenderloin, Tongue, Miso Butter in a Brioche Bun), there’s an a-bun-dance (ahem) of burgers to choose from for vegetarians, carnivores and fetishists – including the Pulled Pork & Mango Burger (Slow Braised Pork with Mango Relish in a Brioche Bun) or the SMS burger (Spinach, Mushroom and Swiss Cheese).
Also on the menu with is the Social trademark “fun-dining,” comfort cafe fare with all its unique twists. House favourites could arrive on gramophone records, enamel plates and even wooden spiked boards. True to the café’s agenda to meld worlds and foster a culture of creative liberation, both the food and drink menus deliver.
With at least 15 different types of Burgers to choose from on the menu paired with craft beers in over 215 different ways, Social has added an extra dimension to its already wildly popular offerings. There’s ample scope for creative experimentation (a #Social experiment?) in the name of science, so come on down to the new Palladium Social to visit the country’s first Craft Beer Tasting Room!
