15th January 2018, New Delhi: Sunday brought together the best of food, laughter, conversation and company in verdant surroundings. La Piazza, the pioneering Italian restaurant at Hyatt Regency New Delhi organized – ‘From – Farm to The Table’ celebrating an exclusive food trail with some of the best farm-produced fresh ingredients.
The afternoon soiree saw Chef Ciro Sorrentino, a Neapolitan pizza maker -, treating guests to an exquisite menu celebrating pizzas, salads, healthy beverages and canapes made with abundance of love and warmth along with farm fresh vegetables and fruits prepared with his unique style and detailing.
The journey started from Hyatt Regency Delhi and took guests to Mr. Shiv Jatia’s farm, which is also the source of produce for most of the restaurants at Hyatt Regency Delhi. The farm produces over 100 vegetables and fruits like Oyester Mushrooms, Knol Khol, Swiss Chard, Curly Kale, Purple Cauliflower, Water Cress to name a few.
Before their meal, Mr. Rohila, expert horticulturist took invitees on a tour of the farm and helped the guests understand the process of growing and nurturing good vegetables and fruits. The meal began with a live salad counter made from vegetables fresh from the farm. Meanwhile, Chef Ciro prepared pizzas and pastas based on the produce chosen that included Bio (mozzarela cheese, tomato, farm vegetables, sundried tomatoes, green chilli), Burratta (Buratta, Parma ham, arugula, Parmesan, extra virgin olive oil), Piscetiello (tomato sauce, roasted garlic, clams, shrimps, red mullet, chilli oil, oregano) and sweet pizza, Nu ciuciu (custard cream, farm fresh strawberry, dark chocolate shaving, strawberry compote & mint leave) to name a few.
