EasyTiger is more than just a restaurant; it’s a heartfelt labor of love by Mrs. Meeta Ahuja. Born in Thailand and later settling in India after marriage, she brings to the table the very flavors she grew up with. She isn’t just the name behind the brand—she’s right there in the kitchen, working alongside her daughter, Scotchie, to ensure the authenticity of Thai and other Asian flavors remains intact.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Ahuja at EasyTiger, located in the newly emerging food hub of Global Gateway Towers, Gurgaon. A soft-spoken lady, she initially kept to herself but instantly connected with my wife, and soon, the conversation flowed naturally.
We began with the Tom Kha soup—light yet deeply flavorful. While I enjoyed its delicate balance, I still long for the day when a chef will serve it with the galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime neatly tied in a potli, so I can savor the broth without constantly dodging these aromatics. My search continues.

The pomelo salad was the only letdown of the meal. The fruit was slightly under-ripe—whitish rather than the vibrant pink it should have been, making it a bit too tart. However, the staff handled it well, promptly replacing it with a raw papaya salad that was delightfully crunchy, served at the right temperature, and had a spot-on balance of flavors.

Next came the compressed watermelon carpaccio, a dish where the excess oxygen is removed from the fruit, allowing it to absorb the flavors of seaweed and mint. A creative dish, though at ₹475, I wonder if I’d order it again.

The dim sum trio followed—cream cheese edamame truffle dimsum, tofu and water chestnut gyoza, and Tom Yum xiao long bao. While all were enjoyable, the xiao long bao stood out. The chicken mince infused with Tom Yum flavors was nothing short of outstanding—I’ll definitely be coming back for this.

As the meal progressed, we decided to explore the cocktail menu. Unconquered (a tequila and coconut milk-based drink) and Temple Run (a gin and Jägermeister blend) showcased EasyTiger’s mixology prowess. Both were well-balanced and innovative, reinforcing that this place takes its cocktails seriously.

For mains, we had the Tom Yum fried rice, a street-style Pad Thai, and black cod in ginger soy sauce. The black cod, while delicious, was a massive portion and priced accordingly. A half-portion option at a lower price would be a welcome addition.

We wrapped up with a pandan-flavored Tres Leches, a fittingly indulgent end to the meal.

EasyTiger is a worthy addition to Gurgaon’s dining scene—a place where passion meets authenticity. I’ll be back, and next time, I already know what I’m ordering first.
