Parat, Gurgaon – Offering Dine in Experience

Parat, the Indian delivery kitchen, now has a small 22-seater restaurant. I, along with a friend and our spouses, tried it out last evening. As we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We started with the Palak patta chaat, a dish made from crispy spinach leaves, yogurt, and tamarind chutney. The batter was a bit thick and the only dish that disappointed.

The chicken kalmi kebab was a clear standout, with its juicy, tender meat and perfect blend of spices. The chicken malai tikka was equally delicious, with the creamy marinade complementing the smoky char from the tandoor.

For the vegetarian option, we tried the Muradabadi subz seekh, a mix of vegetables and almond slivers cooked to perfection. The almond slivers added a nice crunch to the dish, and we loved the flavors that came through with each bite.

If there is one dish that can set a restaurant apart, it’s the chutney, and Parat did not disappoint. The chutney was so fresh and delicious that we ended up having three servings of it. Thick and without curd, this mint chutney subtle tanginess lingered on our taste buds and it very well complemented the kebabs.

The Sikandari raan, a dish made with a full leg of goat, was another standout dish. The resha of the tender meat, melted in our mouths, and the flavors were outstanding. We paired it with the crispy Jodhpuri Paratha, which added a nice contrast in texture.

For the mains, we tried the dal makhani and the lucknawi anda masala. The dal makhani was creamy, rich, and had just the right amount of spices. The lucknawi anda masala was equally delicious, with the bhuna masala in the egg preparation adding a depth of flavor that we couldn’t get enough of.

To end the meal, we tried the makhhan malai with slivers of patisa, a dessert made from whipped cream, milk, and sugar. The dessert was a perfect combination of sweet and creamy, and the slivers of patisa added a nice texture to the dish.

Kebabs are eaten best just out of tandoor. With Parat’s new dining restaurant, we loved its food much more. With its flavorful dishes, warm atmosphere, and friendly staff, we can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu.
